In this weeks learning path, I have been asked to share my context, learning objectives and assessment criteria that I have chosen for Assignment 2. Although I have shared my learning objectives in a previous post, I will share them again for this activity.
I have chosen to create a unit of work for year 1 history.

Present and Past Family Life
- How the present, past and future are signified by terms indicating time such as ‘a long time ago’, ‘then and now’, ‘now and then’, ‘old and new’, ‘tomorrow’, as well as by dates and changes that may have personal significance, such as birthdays, celebrations and seasons (ACHHK029)
- Differences and similarities between students’ daily lives and life during their parents’ and grandparents’ childhoods, including family traditions, leisure time and communications. (ACHHK030)
Historical Questions and Research
- Pose questions about the past using sources provided (ACHHS033)
Analysis and Use of Sources
- Identify and compare features of objects from the past and present (ACHHS035)

Understanding and skills dimensions: Historical knowledge and Understanding – Clear and effective descriptions and explanations of past and present family life including: similarities and differences between present and past family structures, roles and childhoods
Significant personal and family events connected to time
Understanding and skills dimensions: Questioning and researching – Clear and effective questions posed about the past, clearly and logically connected to the present
Understanding and skills dimensions: Analysing and interpreting – Thoughtful examination and use of information from supplied sources to: compare features of objects and answer questions
